How the guide was made

The guide started as a capstone research project on the gap between the rights teenage mothers have on paper and what happens when they try to use them. Each constitutional right was matched to the Act or policy that enforces it. The content, tone and design were then worked through with our programme team, and the finished guide was shared with the organisation and with a government ministry. It is now used in our workshops.

“A right that cannot be enforced is only a promise. This guide is about the step after the promise: the statute, the office, the form.”
